Today is a day to remember ..hope all is well with everyone..I am a very boring patient  as there is really nothing going on except watching and waiting for my counts to go down and come back up...Just praying all this happens before Christmas...

Good morning all...
My counts are going down and now all i have to do is wait and hopefully be home the week before Christmas..Today is my wedding anniversary, so happy anniversary to my husband, Bernie, he has been very supportive and been here for me through this journey for that I am grateful.

My "daughter" Kristen came by yesterday and the day before friends and my granddaughter and great granddaughters came by. I have my room decorated for christmas and have christmas music.. my favorite manheim steamroller. All the nurses come into my room and love it as it is the calmest they say..I also have my essential oil diffuser and it smells really good in here...

Monday 12-3-12

No really new news, counts are still ok my last day of chemo today then hopefully it will take another two weeks andI'll be home. before xmas. My alphie, oldest dachschund came to visit me yesterday that was great, he is the more calmest of my three babies. All is well and just hanging in day to day. My granddaughter and great granddaughters are suppose to visit me today, i'll take pictures if it happens.. everyone have a  blessed day..talk to you soon!!!!

November 30-2012

I skipped yesterday, as I had to have a port put in and it was an all day event, I chose a port this time as I had pic lines in the last two times and it was more trouble than I wanted, so the port will stay in until I am done with treatment and longer to make sure I won't need anymore chemo. Which I won't I am assured I will be done with this..!! So I am looking forward to May when I will not  be doing this anymore, my last vist will be In April yeah....




No point in putting my counts on until it matters, right now everything is good, I have had my first chemo treatment and will get another tonight and tomorrow and then another on Sunday night and Monday a.m. then that is done, we just wait for my counts to go down and come back up..hopefully all this will be done before xmas..

thought I would share pictures of my great granddaughters, that were taken at halloween, miranda the 1 1/2 year old was a puppy and although you can't see it, stephanie was a little bunny, I will miss both of these babies, as i was helping my granddaughter by babysittting while she attended work and school, the baby and I had daily conversations she is so alert and active, and of course miranda is starting to be independent, we also had a lot of fun.  I'll share more over the weekend...the other baby is my "adopted grandbaby" Olivia, she is my daughter's great neice and they are all part of the family...

Today is the first day back in and starting chemo.  Sorry we haven't been blogging  November has been very busy for me. I have been spending alot of time with my great grand babies, also doing some baking, and hosted thanksgiving for our family  and close friends so it has been very eventful.  Now I am counting the days so I can be out of here for christmas. I am in room 1539 5th floor. I will keep you posted.

Well things do turn around quickly, I was having some problems which they thought was thrush, but may not be, running a lowgrade fever until last night and then when up to over 101 and I had some nausea, not fun, If it is my pic line, I want them not to use this again on my next three treatments, so maybe they will be putting in a port.  They also gave me a shot to boost my white blood cells, but that didn't happen, said it will probably be tomorrow that they come up.  On the brighter side of yesterday, Dr. Lockhart, visited me which thrilled me very much. I miss my faculty and it meant a lot to me to have him come and visit.

I have received plateletts 2 days in a row. I am so ready to go home, but not yet today I am running a fever, and I have a blister on my tongue that comes from having the treatment. They are giving me antibiotics, and lidocaine mouthwash, ugh! so maybe by tomorrow I'll be feeling better. My friend Deb, Bernie, Steve and Susan came to see me yesterday. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.. till then!!!

Stephanie came to visit yesterday and we had a fun time. Her mom (lisa) and grandpa and mimi her other grandparents were there to along with her Uncle Scotty. Michele and Brad and Yana and Summer came to visit and it was a good day.

my counts were up yesterday due to getting steroids for a rash I had, but are now going down since rash is done and no more steroids..

Sunday 10-7-12

10-7-12 Sunday...Things are looking good as far as my counts, but I am assured they will all change, had a rash and they were treating me with steroids which made my white blood cells come up, but everything should drop within this week and then hopefully go back up by next week...was hoping I wouldn't be in here as long as last time, but it looks like it might be close to that.  My granddaughter and great granddaughter (the baby)came to see me yesterday along with my daughter and husband have to get those visits in with the baby  so when I get neutropenic I will not be able to see them until I can go home again.. Football today, yeah I like to watch the fox boys and keep on top of the games, so that will occupy my day today...everyone have a great sunday....

Saturday, my counts are still ok, today I get the 3rd and last dose of chemo, then maybe the fun begins, have a rash all over my body, think it is from chemo...not pretty, the first night they injected a dose of benadril in my iv, boy did it make me jumpy like a rabbit!!! so i am taking pills instead which seems to be ok. My children are here everyday and my husband..He is pretty busy with business which is good. Not much to post other than everyone have a great day ....

2nd day in 2nd phase of treatment at hospital starting counts so will find out how it goes by the end of this week, only 3 days of chemo every other day so hopefully i won't be here for a month but for some time keep prayers going....

Back in UMC again for I don't know how long, starting chemo for 3 days and only 1 kind of chemo, and then they start looking at my counts again, when they are up I go home again...so hopefully it won't be as long this time.. I have a larger room and fits many more people so come on by....on 5th floor in room 1510..

Been home since September 3 doing fine, but now I must go back on Monday for the 1st consolidation treatment, this is 1 of 4 treatments, might be in for a month, depends on how I do with the treatment, hopefully sooner than later. Since I last posted, my granddaughter has had her second baby (stephanie marie cantu) so I now have 2 great grandbabies, beautiful girls. Haven't ventured out much other than to the doctors, not really looking forward to being in the hospital again,but it must go on. hope all have a great day and wonderful weekend. love to all

I am home havent posted in a few days, but I am doing fine, holding steady, little tired and will be going back in a couple of weeks. Have my counts done everyday at home, so far so good. I'll be up and back to normal in no time. My sister came and stayed with me until yesterday. Not much for her to do in LV except sit around and watch me sleep and get up and eat and sleep and get up...but it was nice having her. Again thanks for everyone's support and prayers that has been wonderful....

Day 28 - September 3

Yeah home!!! I am home, my sister is here for a few days and its great, all is well dont know what my count is but will on the 4th, . love you all and your prayers!!!!!and good wishes!!!!

Can you believe day 26 and a new month..Not going home today and havent seen any of my doctors, I had the fever and than my infectious disease doctor did blood cultures and a couple of other tests, but really havent heard the results yet of that, maybe tomorrow also my plateletts are low so they are watching that if I have to have platelets tomorrow no go either. Oh well better be safe than sorry....everyone have blessed day take care!!!!

I have a slight fever today, and was feeling good this morning, but now I have a headache and a cold pack on my head. I am not going home today, possibly tomorrow but chances are slim unless things really improve. I will keep you posted on my progress. Blog at you later.

Happy with the numbers, but going home is probably delayed at least a day had fever again ugh! and today platelet counts are not true as I had to have platelets yesterday, so if the platelets do not stay steady then I may have to stay longer if they havc to give me more. anyway it is in gods hands!!!

Rhonda,Anita and Sally were here this a.m. it was a fun visit but it sure did me in after they left, but very glad to see them...Happy Thursday all!!!

Good day today, I would rate today 150  best day I have had so far since treatment, had some good days but really feel much better, no fever, counts good except I had platelet's but expected. The doctors tell me that look at 1 to 2 more days in the hospital.
Thanks for all who continue to pray and think good thoughts I feel it.  The fevers i was running were due to bacteria and they have people putting on the whole gear set up, gowns, masks, gloves, no more fever though so that is good. Seems the big D is subsided too...Saying Hi and sending love to all... PAULA

My platelets are down so I will be receiving some and they say by day 23 my counts should be coming up and will begin to feel better so cross your fingers and say lots of prayers.  love you all

Good news today - had the bone marrow biopsy on Monday results are bone marrow is clear of lukemia cells, yeah... now they have to watch my counts for at least the next week and my immune system will be compromised until the counts get stable, may need blood or plateletts during that time, when the counts hold steady and do not need any blood or plateletts and wbc stays steady i get to go home... (for three weeks)

Had lots of visitors yesterday, busy day think it wore me out, but good, my grandson, Scotty and granddaughter, Lisa, Chris B and Kristen, Rene' who gave me a foot, neck, hand massage, that was very nice, and my wonderful friend, Isabel, who is filling in for me on my job. My wonderful husband, and Brad also.

Hey everyone sorry we haven't blogged in a while we were having technical difficulties. I am doing well and have not received any results from the biopsy on Monday. I am hoping later tonite or tomorrow.

These have been her blood counts for the last few days on day 14 she received 2 pints of blood and 2 pints of platelets. They also did a bone marrow biopsy the same day 08/20 and we should have results today or tomorrow (positive thoughts:)). She has good spirits and enjoys all of her visitors and gifts thank you. Oh and Aunt missy and for anybody else who has had trouble leaving comments I changed the settings so let us know if there are anymore problems. Everyone have a great day I'm sure that's what mom would say.

My friends Carol P came to see me along with Jackie B, great visit, started to run a fever, so the infectious disease dr is very thorough and did a chest x-ray which is negative for pneumonia, blood cultures, which take 4 days to get results. I was in a lot of pain after my friends visits, (they didn't give me pain they gave me joy) Not such a good night.  My daughter and son in law and bernie came to see me also. Looks like visitors have to be limited right now as I am neutropenic immune system down,so call me before you come up or let me know wouldn't want to come here and have to turn around and go home.

nurses say thats good. My daughter, Susan, stepson Bill, and husband Bernie, favorite "SON" Steve, friend Melissa came by to see me yesterday. Bernie and I played cribbage, but I have to say he is an ace, and makes it look so easy but I find it hard to keep track, practice makes perfect.

Wasn't feeling so hot this a.m. but feeling somewhat better now. Picture of my great granddaughter made me a little sad as I can't see her till Im out of here, but I am very grateful I get to see pictures of her. My daughter Susan and her husband Stece have been my rocks and I love them so much. Jackie and Isabelle have been very supportive too as all my friends I surely am blessed.  Goodbye for now....

couldn't get on internet yesterday. I had a good day yesterday and wonderful friends again, Karen B. Kris B, Shawnee...special guest from CA, Donna, Colin B, Liz, Tracy, Chadima, and Gary joined us who resides on this floor also, we were gathered outside in a little waiting area, was very nice and the support and prayers all my friends are giving me is just amazing. I am so blessed. Susan, Steve, Shawna and Bernie also came up. Bernie tried to bring my little weiner, Rocky up but he misbehaved so didn't get to see him..

We are wearing masks still, and she is running a low grade fever so they are giving her antibiotics and checking for infection.  Paula is feeling good today and she is in very good spirits.  shawn, timmi, collin, hannah, cody, jackie, and izzy came by. Oh also wayne and kristin and susan.

WBC    1.4 HAVE TO WEAR MASKS FROM NOW ON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Hg         10.4 has gone up due to the 2 units of draculas potion (thats blood).

platelets 123 all is good.

Paula is good spirts and thanks to Gary, Bill, Brie, Kristin, Liz, Ken and Christine. Not to mention Bernie her loving husband and Steve and Susie...................

Day 4

Good morning all! I think I have figured out how to do this blog. Susan and
Steve have set it up. My children have been so great and I love them so much and grateful for all my friends who have called and come by to check up on me. Glad I have all the prayers going, as God is going to really know who I am for sure and I'll get at least his attention..!!

My counts are down. wbc 1.4 but had two pints of blood yesterday so hemogloblin came up to 10.4. But I am neutropenic which means whomever comes to see me will have to wear masks, me to and wash hands when come in the room which is set up right inside the room. Don't let that scare you, we can all look like the lone ranger!!

I'm feeling pretty good today, wasn't sure when I woke up, but as I have both eyes open now and have eaten breakfast, I seem to feel a lot better. I'll be taking my daily walk up and down the hall in a minute, can't go anywhere except this floor. I sure get my exercise peeing a lot.. about every 1/2 hour, it also interferes with my sleep.... Anyone who would like to can call me if you do not have my phone # you can blog and ask me, I'll be happy to email you. Have a wonderful day everyone and I'll be blogging you!!



Day 3

She is feeling good today, 2 pints of blood and she pees alot.

All are down but the Hg (hemogloben) is why she received the 2 pints of blood.
She had several visitors, Steve and Tracy, Ernie, Collett (hope i spelled it correct), Karen.

We are trying to upload pics stay tuned.

Shes is taking a nap sshhhh.

WBC 2.9         normal is 4-11 White Blood Count
Hg     8.3         normal is 12-16  Hemogloben
Platelets 158     normal is 150

This means the chemo is starting to work,  her white blood counts are dropping this is normal. I did not receive the blood status yesterday.

Paulas spirts are very high and she is doing well just a little tired, to be expected if you got woke up every 4 hrs for vitals and the machine beeps periodically.
